When Amazon* released the Kindle, its first e-reader in November 2007, it sold out in five and a half hours. The device remained out of stock for five months, and physical book sellers the world over feared their demise. Some fourteen years later, hard and paperback books are still as popular as ever. Yes, people can store multiple books on a single device and listen to books in their car or commute, but the true Bibliophile will always want the physical copy in their home.
If you read, you know the pull of pouring over tables of new books in the bookshop or scouring second hand books or Charity shops for that one special book to take home and read.
If you are a lover or collector of books, you do have one problem. Where do you them? The ones you truly love and go back to time and time again, you keep. You don’t want to store them in boxes in the attic, they deserve better than that.

This delighted client had us build floor to ceiling shelves, with varying heights to accommodate the different sizes of books in their collection alongside objet d’arts from their travels, turning their home office into a stunning library. We colour-matched the shelving to the paint they were using on their doors and finishes. The final result is a forever piece of furniture in their forever home.
